Prior to co-founding NRT Consulting, Chris was at Carbon Creek Energy as the VP of Finance. Previously a financial advisor at Van Pearcy Financial with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. from 2007 to 2016, Chris focused on private wealth management, investment banking and business consulting for their small business and public clients. Prior to moving to Midland in 2007, he was a financial control analyst for Q Investments, a Fort Worth-based hedge fund. Chris started his career at KPMG, LLC. in Houston for the state and local tax consulting group. He received his BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M. Chris, his wife Casey and their 3 children love music and the outdoors. Casey and Chris both serve on their church’s worship team, while Jay, Anna and Joseph love backcountry camping trips to the desolate beauty of the Big Bend area. Chris also serves on the board for Wilderness Trek, an outdoor faith-based ministry helping individuals and groups connect with God through the wonders of His natural creation.
Chief Accounting Officer
Prior to co-founding the NRT Consulting team, Leah was the Controller for Carbon Creek Energy focusing on financial reporting, operational accounting, and team management. Prior to her position with Carbon Creek, Leah was a Financial Accountant at CrownQuest Operating, where she worked heavily on capital asset management, internal control structures and implementation, and project management on multiple software conversions. She received her BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and went on to receive her Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Leah became a CPA shortly thereafter and has lived and served within the Permian Basin for the extent of her career. Leah and her husband, Sam, were both born and raised in Odessa and enjoy traveling. They love to spend time with their close friends and family and are passionate about serving in their church’s children’s and youth ministries. Leah is co-founder of Iron Grace Design & Boutique and can be found spending her free time attending to the growing business.
Prior to coming onboard with NRT Consulting, Katie was with Carbon Creek Energy as the Accounting Manager. Katie’s main focus was on joint interest billing and revenue distribution, although she worked heavily on project and team management, notably during Carbon Creek’s accounting outsourcing transition. Prior to leading the accounting team within Carbon Creek, Katie was an Accounting Assistant at CrownQuest Operating where she became a QuickBooks expert while working on several related entities within the company. At CrownQuest she was heavily involved in every step of operational accounting, making her a unique and valuable Accounting Manager at Carbon Creek Energy, who understood all the pieces of the oil and gas accounting puzzle. Originally from a small town called Wyoming, Minnesota, Katie moved to west Texas in 2012 and went on to establish her career here after a lifetime of relocating as her father served in the Army. She received her BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and shortly thereafter married her best friend, Aaron. Aaron and Katie love traveling and spending time with their daughter, McKenna. Katie is the co-founder of Iron Grace Design and Boutique, where she can be seen spending her free time.
Prior to joining NRT Consulting, Denise was a Staff Accountant for Carbon Creek Energy, where she managed all accounts payable, vendor relations, and was heavily involved in cash disbursements and management. Prior to her position with Carbon Creek, Denise worked in accounts payable for Pure Resources before she moved on to lead the Accounts Payable team for Whiting Oil Petroleum for almost a decade. Denise has over 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, and her knowledge base has played a vital role in the NRT team. Denise and her husband, Rich, enjoy spending time with family and their three dogs. If not in Midland, they can be seen travelling around the United States, especially to catch a Yankees game or a Notre Dame football game!
Prior Prior to joining the NRT team, Cheryl was a Staff Accountant for Carbon Creek Energy, managing all accounts receivables, owner relations, and assisting in many other operational processes. Cheryl has a unique background as the receptionist for Carbon Creek, as well as many other previous employers, and gained many relational skills that made her an expert at maintaining vendor and owner relationships. Cheryl has served throughout the Permian Basin as executive assistant to many different employers and has amassed a wide variety of people, oil and gas, and accounting skills that makes her a key part of the NRT team. Cheryl and her husband, Eddie, enjoy spending time with their wonderful children and two grandchildren, Kolmynn and Karrington. When not with family, they can be seen adventuring in their camper around the state of Texas or working on fun, new projects for their new startup venture, REMIX.
Prior to her Staff Accountant position with NRT, Cinthya interned with Carbon Creek Energy, where she quickly became a vital part of the accounting group. Cinthya’s main focus was assisting with all major processes, notably revenue distribution, joint interest billing, and financial statement preparation and analysis. Cinthya’s fluency in both Spanish and English has made her a unique and valuable member of NRT’s group, giving them the ability to reach different demographics within the Permian Basin. Cinthya is a recent graduate of The University of Texas of the Permian Basin with her BBA in Accountancy, who plans on continuing her education through UTPB’s Master of Professional Accountancy program and earning her CPA license. When she isn’t busy studying or working, Cinthya enjoys fishing, horseback riding, and movies.
